Since opening its doors in 2011, the Shanghai Museum of Glass has presented a variety of top international exhibitions and events, including yearly ancient glass exhibitions and ‘Keep It Glassy’, an exhibition that engages artists and designers from countries such as the USA, UK, Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, Turkey, Australia, Mexico, Kenya, Japan and South Korea. These high-end glass designs and glass art pieces transform geographical hurdles and break down cultural barriers to bring cutting-edge ideas and work to the public.
The Kids Museum of Glass is the first of its kind in China, it is designed especially for children to explore and learn. The exhibitions form the ‘Glass City’, which consists of differently themed units, such as ‘The Beach’, ‘The Circus’ and ‘The Factory’. The experience is intuition-based and invites children to discover the magical possibilities of glass.
The Rainbow Chapel is multi-functional events space enclosed within a kaleidoscope of color. The venue is truly one of a kind, its multi-hued facade creates an all-embracing atmosphere where many different types of events can occur. Our desire from the very beginning was to provide an intimate setting for people to come together to express feelings of joy and love – the unique circular form and magical glass reflections make it a welcoming environment that is perfect for uplifting ceremonies and congregations
Each piece of the exquisitely colorful glaze hairpins expresses the beauty that was found during the Song Dynasty era, a time known for its elegance and cultural appreciation.
Keep it Glassy国际创意玻璃设计展第二季于2015年4月19日正式开展！这是2013年“Keep it Glassy”第一季非凡与辉煌的延续。在第二季展览中，来自全球的玻璃艺术家，将再次为游客诠释玻璃的“无限可能性”。
Following the success of the first “Keep it Glassy” exhibition in 2013, “Keep it Glassy 2” officially opened on the 19 August. The international design exhibition invited creative glass artists from around the world to demonstrate the “infinite possibilities of glass” to visitors.
As another permanent display venue for the Shanghai Museum of Glass, the Design Wing collects classic and pioneer works from numerous renowned designers home and abroad, in its nearly 2000-square-meter concise and fluent space, with a consistent aesthetic factors and display principles, as well as infinite passion towards glass.
The Rainbow Chapel is multi-functional events space enclosed within a kaleidoscope of color. The venue is truly one of a kind, its multi-hued facade creates an all-embracing atmosphere where many different types of events can occur.
Conveniently located right next to the Chapel is a 1200 square meter Crystal Hall that can be used for large events. The building was transformed from a former industrial glass workshop, and is now an elegant space, which serves to compliment the Rainbow Chapel. The interior is uplifting and also highly versatile, facilitating the wide range of events on offer from weddings and anniversary celebrations to concerts.
K Space is a spacious and private venue on the second floor of the Kids Museum of Glass. It is a 300 square meter multifunctional space that provides customized birthday parties for children, including catering, glass displays, cartoon characters, face painting, multi-media interactive installations, magic shows and clown shows
